☀ Central Florida Solar & Roof Fit Check

Have a Florida solar quote? Check the numbers and contract terms first.

A monthly payment alone does not tell you whether a solar proposal fits your home. Start with the roof, electric usage, utility, system goals and timing, then let SJ walk you through the questions that matter.

✓ Roof-age and shading check
✓ Utility-aware project intake
✓ Solar + battery option
✓ Solar + roof coordination path

This form does not authorize automated or prerecorded marketing calls or texts. If a future installer requires separate seller-specific consent, that consent will identify the seller before you agree. Installation proposals, contracts, permitting and installation are handled by an independent appropriately licensed Florida contractor, not by S&C Marketing Solutions. Privacy details.

A better first step than a generic “free solar quote.”

Solar economics and project readiness depend on more than sunlight. The roof, electric usage, utility territory, battery goals and project timing all affect what should happen next.

1

Home + utility

We capture the address area, utility, ownership and electric-bill range so the inquiry starts with the right local context.

2

Roof readiness

Roof age, material and shading help separate “ready for design” from projects that may need roofing coordination first.

3

Solar + storage goals

Battery interest and project timing help identify whether the conversation is mostly about bill offset, resilience, or both.

4

Licensed handoff

If installation is appropriate, a verified, appropriately licensed Florida provider must handle the proposal, permits, contract and work; S&C does not install solar.

What the fit check looks for.

✓Homeowner or decision-maker status
✓Current electric-bill range
✓Roof age, material and visible shading
✓Battery-backup interest
✓Roof-replacement coordination needs
✓Utility and service-area match

What it does not do.

The fit check is a lead-prioritization and project-readiness tool. It does not approve financing, guarantee production, guarantee savings, determine tax eligibility, or replace an installer’s site survey and written proposal.

•No guaranteed monthly savings claim
•No claim of utility endorsement or affiliation
•No assumption that an old federal homeowner credit still applies
•No financing decision based on the marketing score

Initial Central Florida service area.

The launch model covers the Greater Tampa Bay, I-4/Orlando and East Central Florida corridors. Actual installation availability is confirmed by address and installer capacity.

How do you compare a solar proposal in Florida?

A useful comparison puts system specifications, production assumptions, full purchase terms and who actually performs the work on the same page. Lower monthly loan payments alone do not prove that one offer is cheaper.

System, production and roof

  • Panel count, nameplate capacity in kW and inverter/battery model.
  • Estimated annual kWh generation and assumptions about shade, degradation and roof direction.
  • Roof condition, attachments, permits and any roof-removal/reinstall responsibility.
  • Which loads a battery can support during an outage, and for approximately how long.

Price and ownership

  • Cash price and any separate finance price, APR, lender/dealer fees and term.
  • Payment schedule, possible escalators, maintenance obligations and early payoff conditions.
  • Whether the offer is a purchase, loan, lease or power-purchase agreement, if offered.
  • Any claim of federal tax benefits must match current IRS rules, not an older flyer.

Provider and utility accountability

  • Legal company name and current Florida license, plus who pulls permits and signs the contract.
  • Workmanship, roof-leak, panel, inverter and battery warranty distinctions.
  • TECO or FPL interconnection requirements and permission to operate.
  • Written cancellation rights, communication contact and remedies if projected output differs.
Important 2026 check: The federal residential clean energy credit under Section 25D is not available for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Avoid treating an old 30% tax-credit claim as guaranteed 2026 homeowner savings. Individual tax situations and other programs require current professional verification. Read the IRS guidance.

Three questions to ask before you sign

  1. What is the total contract price without financing, and what changes under each finance option?
  2. How was the estimated annual electricity production calculated, and can I see the assumptions?
  3. Which licensed provider is responsible for roof attachments, permits, utility approval and warranty service?

For a more detailed comparison method, see EnergySage's guide to comparing quotes. For federal consumer guidance, see the U.S. Department of Energy installation checklist.

This is a consumer checklist, not a certified engineering review, legal opinion or competing firm-price offer. S&C is an independent education/referral business and is not the installing contractor.

Common questions before a solar review.

Do I need a new roof before solar?

Not always. Roof age, condition, material and remaining useful life matter. If the roof is near replacement age, coordinating roofing before or with solar can avoid paying later to remove and reinstall panels.

Will solar keep my house powered during an outage?

Ordinary grid-tied solar is typically designed to shut down when the grid is down. Backup operation generally requires appropriately designed battery storage and islanding/transfer equipment. The installer should explain exactly what loads a proposed system can support.

Can you tell me exactly how much I will save?

Not from a marketing form. A useful estimate needs actual usage, system design, equipment, financing terms if any, and the current rules for your utility. We do not guarantee a savings number before those inputs are known.

Is S&C the solar installer?

No. S&C Marketing Solutions operates the marketing and lead-routing system. Installation proposals, contracts, permits and installation must be handled by an appropriately licensed Florida installation provider.
